Joonas Ilmasti is a Finnish lawyer and economist who was Chief Compliance Officer and General Counsel at LocalBitcoins, once the world’s largest peer-to-peer Bitcoin exchange, where he built its compliance and anti-money-laundering functions. He came to Bitcoin in 2014 through Austrian economics and now runs btcadvisor.net, advising Bitcoin companies and institutional investors on regulation, strategy, and investment. He holds a law degree from the University of Turku and a finance degree from the London School of Economics.
